Healing
Aftercare
This is the written version of the studio handout. It is general care, not medical advice. Call a clinician if you are worried about an infection.
- Leave the bandage on for the time Winter tells you, usually a few hours.
- Wash with clean hands and unscented soap. Pat dry. Do not rub.
- Apply a thin layer of the ointment she names. Too much product keeps the skin wet.
- Skip pools, baths, sun, and tight fabric on the piece for two weeks.
- Do not pick flakes. Let them fall.
- After it is closed, use a plain unscented lotion when the skin feels tight.
Write Winter if the piece is hot, streaked, or leaking after the first days. For urgent medical trouble, use local urgent care or 911.
A longer aftercare PDF is linked from the artist’s public link page. This page does not replace that file.
